Welcome to this week's epic blog post! As always, I do not have a whole lot I want to update about, because there's not a lot going on beyond real life stuff at the moment.
Windows 10 end of support woes...
Started to look into upgrading some parts of my setup since windows 10 is loosing support in October; mainly upgrading the streaming pc to something newer at least.
I have been looking at maybe getting a mini windows pc, something like the new framework thing that was shown off in Linus' framework video a few weeks ago. The reason? I have a mac mini doing some stuff and the streaming pc doing some stuff, they share the same monitor (I switch between them) and they are right on top of each other, maybe I should just get one mini pc for all my streaming and mini-pc needs all in one little box.
The other plan is to get an IRL setup going and trying to do that, which I need windows to do. I already pay for a service and beefed up my mobile hotspot plan, I just need to get some kind of mount for my phone. I need windows since the scene-switching program the IRL service I have uses is only on windows, it uses weird OBS webhooks to work.
That's the other thing, I have been using the last version of OBS 27 on my streaming pc since I haven't found a good replacement for ASIO drivers in OBS for recent versions. But i'll have to figure that out, not sure if I can keep using the old version on windows 11. I need ASIO for the mixing board/multi-track mess that I have set up.
This really sounds like an issue for the summer, to be honest. I've already done test irl streams with my gopro and laptop, could try firing up one of those to see what happens. I'll update here when I make my next move.
Future Streams?
On the same subject of streaming, I have said this before but I do want to lean back into livestreaming again. Not sure if I should dual-platform it or just do it on Twitch. To be honest, with the way things are at twitch with their poor application of their own rules, I don't see the platform having a future if they don't clamp down. But on the other hand, using the YouTube Live Studio is a fate worse than death, so who knows?
I have a few ideas for some streams that I would like to start soon, maybe i'll try my hand at random steam or gamejolt games like I used to, bad minecraft servers? More solo-type stuff so I can start making content again. Let me know if you guys have any ideas.
One thing I would like to try is getting an xbox 360 emulator and try to beat a corrupted copy of minecraft. All of those videos from last year made me think if it was possible to try and beat the game like that, could also try to do the same corrupted mc idea from 5 years ago but it would be latest version -> 1.7.10, not sure if that would be interesting.
Yeah, I think it is time to get back into the content swing of things. Being out of it since mid 2021 is too long of a break. Hopefully you'll join me.
Website project
Still going, making small cosmetic changes here and there. Maybe I will get around to finishing the admin panel, LOL.
